A Bad Guy

This is one Max drew from looking at a ‘bad guy’ on a DVD box.  I think it’s his best face likeness to date.

But Before Mini-Golf…

After church, we were changing into shorts, and I said to the kids, “we’re going somewhere fun!”  They asked where, and I said, “We’re going to a special place where we’ll fold socks for 2 hours!”  Matt added, “for the poor kids!”  (We are always tucking away little toys, clothes, etc to keep for ‘the poor kids’ who will receive the Love in a Shoebox packages we make in the fall.)  Max (who apparently fell for it) whined, “I don’t want to fold socks for the poorrrr kidsssss!”  Lucy asked, “Will there be pink socks?”

Mini Golf

We had original plans to go to Padaro Beach Grill after Church on Sunday.  We called a couple of different families, but the timing wasn’t right and none could go with us.  Rather than go there by ourselves, we decided to try out mini-golf at Ventura’s Golf ‘N’ Stuff.  Max was not happy.  He said he didn’t want to go.  We told him he didn’t need to play but he had to walk with us.  When we got there he changed his mind!

We started off following some rules and going in order (Dad, Max, Lucy, Mom), but our game quickly devolved into chaos as Lucy needed help and Max kept picking up his ball.  We decided this was a practice round and we would keep score next time.

We arrived about 11:30a and they were just starting up the go-karts.  We watched them go around the track a couple of times and Max wanted to go.  We are going to save that for next time.

Wow! The backyard is back.

Pop brought the truck up this weekend and we loaded it with all kinds of scrap / trash from the project.  We filled up the bed of his truck to nearly overflowing.  The trailer has been very useful for us.  But in order to get the drywall up to the second floor we need to get a big truck with a boom to go over the garage.  The truck will need to park in the space that the trailer occupies, so the trailer has to go.

After a morning-plus of cleanup the back yard has re-emerged like a phoenix arising from the flames – better than ever.  This is the new and improved back yard that does not need to be used as a driveway, since the garage doors are on the alley wall.

Thanks Pop.

Why is Toby so happy?

What does our van have to do with Toby being happy?

Toby is exceedingly happpy because last week, Pop took the initiative to clean up the last bit of junk that was left in our garage from the windows and lumber and such.  This means that she is able to park the van in our garage again!  The last time that she was able to park in the garage was before the midnight lumber delivery.  It is the happiest that she has been in a long time.

Thanks Pop.
