No Rupture for Toby

Dr. Green declared Toby at 5cm and decided against breaking her water because the baby’s head is too high.  He said that since Toby is responding very well to the Pitosin, he felt that she should progess well without the rupture.  So now with the epidural, catheter and Pitosin, we just have to wait.  Didn’t I write the same thing last night?

Many more tubes are in Toby’s body

The anaesthesiologist just left.  With the Pitosin drip at 6ml/hr, Toby progressed to 3 cm.  Since her medical team is so accomodating, she was able to get her epidural a little bit early.  After that, the Foley catheter was inserted, so now Toby is bedridden.  Dr. Green will come by a little later for the ‘rupture’.

Contractions possibly starting

Although she had some small contractions last night when we arrived, contractions have been pretty non-existent today.  So it was good news that when the nurse came in to up Toby’s Pitosin (she is at 4 now), Toby was able to tell her that the contractions had started on a more forceful and frequent basis.
