What does our van have to do with Toby being happy?
Toby is exceedingly happpy because last week, Pop took the initiative to clean up the last bit of junk that was left in our garage from the windows and lumber and such. This means that she is able to park the van in our garage again! The last time that she was able to park in the garage was before the midnight lumber delivery. It is the happiest that she has been in a long time.

Oscar with Broken Drum Insulation finished up our insulation yesterday, mostly. I say mostly because apparently we forgot to frame up a knee wall in a closet and he didn’t insulate the dog house closet. But mostly everywall and ceiling is insulated with R-19 or R-30 even though the plans only call for R-13.
This weekend was hard work. I was by myself (Poppa took a vacation, the nerve!) I spent most of Saturday and all of Sunday cleaning up the insides in preparation for the the insulation to be installed. The kids helped. They especially liked throwing the wood scraps out of the second floor window.
Monday morning before work, I got up early and took pictures of every wall (I hope). The idea is that when the walls are covered I will be able to tell exactly what is in the walls and where (pipes, electrical, backing board, etc). Below is an example of the 89 shots I took. I found some pictures of Lucy’s 4th birthday on the work camera. I’ll post them now, since the ‘official’ posting could be months away. Her birthday fell on a Saturday work day, so Toby brought the kids out to the front porch where I was filling in the trench to cover the gas line trench (yes, that gas line trench that was dug in October 2007) and Lucy opened presents on the front porch.

I missed posting about a work weekend in April where Kevin S. cranked out some major progress for us. We got the garage door converted into a solid wall, pocket doors hung, interior doorways framed up and more!
Before the new wall
We used steel studs to cover the garage door. My dad found the studs on the side of the road, 2 years ago. They have been sitting in his garage for that whole time. We had exactly the number necessary for this one wall! Another example of God’s providence.
