Oh the fun you can have with an infant tub! Lucy is now a photo-queen – she says, “Cheese!” and when the flash goes off – she says, “More, more.”

Doggie Pee?!
Today we returned from morning church to find a small puddle in the kid’s room. Matt took a whiff and determined that unfortunately, it wasn’t water. I was LIVID!! How dare one of our dogs pee in the house? What a wierd place, too – there wasn’t anything to ‘mark’ or show agression (like in our shoes). After cleaning it up, and me stomping around grousing about how these dogs were going to have to fine a new home address, Matt took a closer look at Lucy. Apparently one of the velcros on her diaper had come undone and slid down her pant leg to her ankle! So – she was the culprit – just a little girl peeing down her leg. What a crazy household – we’re like a sitcom over here. 🙂
Calvin John
My dear sister Diane in Kentucky had her baby boy on Dec. 30 (Happy New Year – and tax breaks – yea!). Calvin John came by way of C-section and has this perfect round head (not like my canal-squeezed kidlets). 🙂 Congrats to them!
The Mumbles of Babes and Max’s Heart
Current Lucy-isms:
Cow
Goggie (Doggie)
Eetey (Petey)
Sziszer (Ginger)
Now (actually – down)
Choo-choo
Han (Hand)
Peeees (Please)
Dan-du (Thank you)
Ditty (Pretty)
Wow! (when she has climbed up something and is proud)
Mmmmm (what a cow says – she arches her neck and everything)
Mmmmm (when she eats something new – yes her Mommy is trying positive reinforcement)
Eaoww (what a kitty says)
Euff (what a doggy says)
Oh we’re having some fun! 🙂
We talk with Max about having a ‘happy heart’ (good attitude). One day when I was saying that I wanted him to help me with something and not be grumpy, he said, “Let me ask my heart. (whispers to his chest) sound ok? (then to me) Okay Mommy I’ll help ya!”
Balloon Doggies
Everyone loves when Poppa comes over for the weekend, but no one more so than Lucy. She loves Poppa and all the fun she has with him. This past weekend when he came over, he brought the long balloons and was twisting them into little poodle dog shapes. She walked around with a balloon dog in her hand all day.
Since they are balloons, and she toddles, she would often pop them. She would cry
and cry until Poppa stopped work and twisted her a new ‘doggie’. When it was time
for bed, we let her take one of the balloon dogs to bed. We were going to go in after
she was asleep and remove it from her death grip. Poppa went in about a half an hour
after she went to bed. Her eyes were closed, but she still cried when he tried to
take it from her hands. She really loves her balloon doggies. We finally got the balloon
out of her crib about 3 hours after she went to bed. Even after they untwisted and
were just lumpy balloons, she would walk around with her doggie. The picture below
shows Poppa twisting Eloise a new doggie. This doggie is an ’emergency replacement’.
It is hard to tell in the picture, but Lucy’s cheeks are wet with her tears after
having popped the previous doggie.
