New Orleans 2015–Day 6

The most adventurous day.

We went Flyboarding with Jeremy from New Orleans Flyboarding.  Jan was very nervous and I was very excited.  Jeremy was an excellent instructor and was very patient and encouraging to both of us.  Toby was the official photographer for the day.  Jan and I alternated 20 minute lessons (after 20 minutes I was ready for a rest).  When our lessons were over, Jeremy strapped the boots on and gave us a quick show.  He was amazing.  In the pictures below, compare the length of the hose that Jan and I achieved (our max was about 10 feet as beginners) and the height that Jeremy got (~25 ft).  During Jeremy’s ride, I basically ran the jet ski at a constant 6500 rpm, whether he was in the air or in the water!

New Orleans 2015–Day 4

Segway tours have become a staple of Toby’s and my vacations.  This time we took a night tour.  We had a good time on the Segway’s, but our guide seemed a little bored.  And he didn’t let us go fast, although that could have been because 2 different riders fell off the Segways early in the tour.  I’m not a fan of the road crew vests.

We also had a great lunch at Brennan’s with table side Banana’s Foster preparation.

New Orleans 2015–Day 3

Le Monde Creole, The Creole World, was the theme of our walking tour on Tuesday morning.  Our guide Bill took us into courtyards and museums to see what life was like in the French Quarter through the ages.  We visited the cemetary #1 where we learned how the dead are buried in New Orleans.  Ask Toby why the bodies are not buried in the ground.  Winking smile

New Orleans 2015–Day 2

The sun has come out!

This is the weather I was expecting, nice and warm.  Today we took an airboat tour in the swamp with Arthur’s Airboat Tours.  Greg was a fantastic guide, and the boat was loud.  I was amazed at where the airboat could go (even over a levee).  He pulled a baby alligator out of the water and everyone got a chance to hold it.
