The ‘work crew’ (Matt, Pop) are drilling with a really LOUD jackhammer under the house. More specifically, right under where Lucy is taking a nap. It seems that if it is not too crazy loud when she is falling asleep, then she can sleep through this really loud stuff! I am flabbergasted and oh so praising the Lord right now. I know this could change at any time – but I’m just so grateful for the nap she got amidst some MAJOR noise.

Zoo trip with YaYa
Last week I took the kids and Yaya to the SB Zoo. It was a really great day. Max has been studying animal movement, etc in our lessons so he was shouting out all the time, “Look Mom!” Lucy was much more interested in the animals than he was at her age – and she was saying, “Ot-ter” for both the otters and the sea lion (since the sea lion looks like a big otter!). One of the funniest parts was when Sylvia and I fed the giraffes – a hysterically funny thing for me and a fairly gross thing for her. The giraffes come up to this special landing and you feed them what looks like large kibble. I wish I had gotten a picture of the tongue – they stick their tongues out about a FOOT long and wrap it around your entire hand. It was very slimy and I laughed the whole time. Max didn’t want to try it (he’s just not that adventurous with large mammals). So whenever you come to visit us – we’ll take you to the zoo! 🙂
The Love of A Good Wife
I have all that I really need to be happy (and then some). What I really want for my birthday (and am confident to receive) is the continued love of my good wife. But since Toby has been bugging me to put together a ‘Wish List’ for birthday gift ideas, I have put together a webpage with the details.

5 Feb 2006 : Garage Doors continued
The garage work continues. We had an appointment for the measurement guy to come out and measure the openings for the installation. Toby had arranged to leave the back gate open for him, so he walked in, made some measurements and left without talking to her. He had to come back the next day because he had measured the existing garage door! Hello? Hello? I placed an order for measurements for 2 new 9 foot garage doors. He measured the existing single 15 foot door. Duh.
After some phone calls back and forth with the installation company, we finally got a measurer out on Saturday while Pop and I were home. He was not very flexible and basically told us we had to recess the garage door 4 inches to get an installation. We had placed the new garage wall on the outside of the existing wall, and we were glad to get the extra 4 inches of parking space. But alas… We flushed up the edges of the garage doors and ordered a ‘low-head room’ track system.
We also started working under the house. Dig dig dig.
No pictures this week as the garage doors were always covered up.
I’m hoping this is PG-13…
Max was in the tub and was about to get out after he was done washing. We have a set of stackable buckets as toys, and he put a smaller blue one over his privates. He announced with glee, “So my penis can breathe in outer space!!!!”
