From Boy to Man–The Marks of Manhood

One blog that I subscribe to and frequently read is Albert
Mohler’s blog
on Crosswalk.com.
His blogs are lengthy pieces but nearly always worth the read. And he blogs every
weekday.

His 2 recent blogs have attempted to answer the question of ‘When does a boy become
a man?’. He lists out 13 points over 2 days that are well worth the read. Below is
the introduction or teaser for the blogs.

When does a boy become a man? This is not just a hypothetical question,
for an incredibly large number of boys and young men are struggling to answer this
question, and many are without fathers who are faithful to guide them, or other male
role models who offer inspiration and instruction. Furthermore, our society is so
confused on these issues that boys are understandably puzzled.

The blog concludes with the following exhortation that I will endeavor (and encourage
all my friends with boys to endeavor) to apply to my relationship with my son.

Dads, you are absolutely crucial to the process of man-making. No one
else can fulfill your responsibility, and no one else can match your opportunity for
influence with your son. By word and by example, we are teaching our sons the meaning
of manhood. May God make us faithful as we seek to lead our boys to become true Christian
men.

And finally, if you are not reading Albert Mohler’s blog on a regular basis, you should
be.
